Good Kid Lyrics (From The Lightning Thief Musical) ((Plus Ramble))
Okay, so you probably have listened to the song 'Good Kid' from The Lightning Thief Musical which will begin on March 23 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre, because if you haven't then you better go watch it here, folks.
I really like the lyrics, since it's simple but seriously, seriously, sERIOUSLY. Touching. I literally cried when I first hear it, because hOW CAN YOU NOT. Although there are a few parts that struck me as not quite right...
But anyway, if you're not native to English like me, and you're hoping to find the lyrics, I got your back, fam. I wrote down the words as well as I could, but if you think there're some errors, just let me know!
Six schools in six years
Been kicked out of every place
Everything I ever do is wrong
Never find where I belong
Everybody on my case
The same old story
The same old song
Don’t act up, don’t act out
Be strong
I keep my head down
I keep my chin up
But it ends up all the same
With pack your bags, Percy
You’re always to blame
I never try to do anything
I never mean to hurt anyone
I swear, I swear that I’m a good kid,
A good kid, a good son
But no one ever will take my side
All I ever do is take a fault
I swear, I swear that I’m a good kid,
Yes, I’m good for nothing at all
Gabe, was a world class jerk
Dad, was never there
The only family that really mattered
Well she vanished into the air
And now I finally find a heaven
Someplace safe where I can stay
‘till it’s, pack your bags, Percy
Now go, go away
I never try to do anything
I never mean to hurt anyone
I swear, I swear that I’m a good kid,
Yeah Percy, that’s a good one
But no one ever will take my side
All I ever do is take a fault
I swear, I swear that I’m a good kid,
Yes, I’m good for nothing at all
The schools in six years
Every battle everyday
No one ever tells me that they’re proud
No one asks me,
Percy how’d you like to come around and stay
Oh, you get a bad grade,
And a bum rap,
And a bad rep,
And a good smack
And no friends,
And no hope,
And no mom,
She’s taken away
I swear I never stole anything
I never meant to hurt anyone
I swear, I swear that I’m a good kid,
A good kid,
Just had a bad run
And all I need is one last chance
To prove I’m good enough for someone
Good enough for someone
(Six schools in six years)
I’m good enough for someone
(Six schools in six years)
I’m good enough for someone
(Six schools in six years)

There are parts that I'm not sure, but... I did what I could.
This song was performed by Chris McCarrell and I have no claim whatsoever of the song. I just wrote down the words. Cheers.

((Also, if any of you want to fly me to the US to watch the play, just hit me up lol))
